From warranty to which model fits — most answers are already there.
What exactly happens to your Switch and why craftsmanship makes the difference.
The modchip is fitted to the motherboard using micro-soldering. Precision work at millimetre level, performed under a microscope with professional soldering equipment. Every connection is checked before the console is closed up again.
The chip makes it possible to run your own software (custom firmware) on your Switch. Fully internal: nothing is visible from the outside and your Switch feels exactly the same as before.
The mod works on every Switch model and every revision: V1, V2, Lite and OLED. For the OLED I use the DAT0 method — a proven, reliable installation technique specifically for this model.
Since the console is open anyway, it gets a full service at the same time: dust removed and old thermal paste replaced with fresh, high-quality paste. Cooler and quieter.
Fixed prices per model. Always including internal cleaning, fresh thermal paste, modchip, installation and complete software configuration.
At least 256 GB required for the mod software. Own a card? Send it along. Otherwise order one here:
| Micro SD card | Price |
|---|---|
| 256 GB | €49.95 |
| 512 GB | €85 |
Besides modding I also repair common Switch problems. All with the same craftsmanship: professional tools, micro-soldering where needed and thorough testing before your console goes back.
Does your Switch no longer read games, or only when you press the cartridge in just the right way? The cartridge reader is a known weak spot and can be replaced or repaired.
Is your micro SD card not recognised or does it keep disconnecting? The problem is often in the card reader itself — repairable without losing your data or games.
Does your character move on its own or does a stick no longer respond properly? Joy-Con drift can be fixed. I can also replace the battery and replace buttons. I do not repair Joy-Con charging issues.
Everything about Nintendo Switch modding, warranty, modchip installation and how it works.
We install the modchip and load open-source firmware onto it (Atmosphere and Hekate) — nothing more. That makes it possible to run homebrew and your own software. What you put on your Switch after that is entirely your own choice and responsibility. Nintendo's factory warranty is voided once the Switch is modded; in return, you get 3 months of warranty from us on the chip and the installation.
Both methods put the same modchip in your Switch OLED. The difference is how the chip makes contact with the motherboard — and that determines how stable the mod stays in the long run.
Kamikaze — the one I recommend. Here, layers of the circuit board are carefully removed to reach the right contact point directly. It is the hardest and riskiest soldering job there is on an OLED: there is no margin for error and it takes real experience. The result matches the effort — a solid, direct connection that cannot shift. Heat from gaming, a knock, or dropping it once: the mod simply keeps doing its job. If you never want to think about it again, this is the method to pick.
DAT0 — the budget-friendly alternative. Here a flex cable is slid underneath a chip to make contact. It is a proven method that works well; the connection is clamped rather than fixed, so in rare cases it can shift over time through heat or a knock. Should that happen: within the 3-month warranty period I fix it free of charge (excluding shipping), after that for €30.
In short: DAT0 is a fine choice if you want to save a bit, Kamikaze is the investment in maximum stability. Not sure? Get in touch — happy to advise.
Installing a modchip is not a DIY job. The chip is soldered directly onto the motherboard, on connections less than a millimetre wide. That requires professional equipment — a microscope and a precision soldering station — plus extensive experience with micro-soldering at a very small scale. One wrong move and the motherboard is permanently damaged. After that it still comes down to craftsmanship: the mod software must be installed safely and configured correctly, or you risk an unusable console. A modding service removes those risks: your Switch is modded with the right tools and the right expertise, and comes back fully working and ready to use.
Yes. Jailbreaking, modding or unlocking — they are all terms for the same thing: opening up your Nintendo Switch to run your own software (custom firmware) via a modchip. So if you searched for "Switch jailbreak", you are in the right place.
Yes. The modchip works on every Switch model and every revision: the original V1, the improved V2, the Switch Lite and the OLED. For the OLED I use the proven DAT0 method.
Modding a Switch V1 or V2 costs €85, a Switch Lite €90 and a Switch OLED €110 — always including the modchip, installation, internal cleaning, fresh thermal paste and complete software configuration. Return shipping: €6.95.
Within 2 to 4 days of receiving it, your Switch is fully modded and shipped back ready to use.
Yes, the mod software requires a micro SD card of at least 256 GB. Own one? Send it along. Otherwise order one with your mod: 256 GB for €49.95 or 512 GB for €85.
No. All software is installed and configured. You receive your Switch back completely ready to use, including a guide on how to use it afterwards — unbox and play!
